Tactors are
small transducers, designed to optimize skin response to vibration.
These devices are used to provide communication to replace or supplement
audio and visual input, especially under circumstances where audio and
visual cues can be missed. EAI's electromechanical tactors provide orders
of magnitude increase in output over prior devices of this type, while
still being small, lightweight and reliable. EAI has developed a range
of Tactors and a variety of driver boards that make Tactile Displays
and Tactile Situation Awareness Systems (TSAS) viable for a variety
of demanding military, medical and commercial applications.
